Sunday 26th August 2012   by Dave W.

Rose led this walk in Kent on a wonderfully sunny day, making a change from our usual Surrey haunts.

Soon after the start we came by this church at Sundridge

Morning tea stop

There were quite a few woods like this offering welcome cooling after the hot sun. We had our lunch on a log in one of them, just before we got to Emmetts, as we suspected that the picnic tables there would be crowded... indeed they were.

In the afternoon we passed this stone seat facing a wonderful view. The dedication on the seat is to Octavia Hill, whose gravestone we had seen at Toy's Hill on 22nd July.

Soon after, we came upon another viewpoint. Rose is looking at Bough Beech reservoir.

Encounter with another walking group

Many thanks to Rose for leading the walk.
